1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to Resonanty (the "Service"), which is operated by Resonanty ("we," "us," or "our") and accessible at resonanty.com (the "Site"). It explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you access or use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection, processing, and use of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Where this policy refers to "personal information" or "personal data," it means information that identifies you, directly or indirectly, in line with the definitions used by the GDPR, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable privacy laws (see Section 11).

Our calculators run in your browser. Input you enter into our calculators (rates, revenue, costs, and similar figures) is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers unless you explicitly submit it, for example through the contact form. This policy focuses on the data we do collect.

2. Information We Collect

Personal information you provide. We may collect information that can identify you, such as your name and email address, when you voluntarily provide it, for example when you register for an account (if applicable), subscribe to updates, fill out the contact form, or otherwise communicate with us.

Usage information. We automatically collect certain information about how you interact with the Service, such as IP address (often truncated), browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and approximate location derived from IP address. This information is collected through server logs and common analytics tools.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to help the Service function, remember your preferences (such as dark/light theme), measure traffic, and understand how the Service is used. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, operate, and improve the Service and its calculators, articles, and other features;
  • To respond to your inquiries and send service-related, account-related, or administrative communications;

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legal bases we rely on are:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for example, when you submit the contact form, subscribe, or accept non-essential cookies;
  • Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform a contract with you;
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where we must process data to comply with applicable law;
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to operate, secure, and improve the Service, analyze usage, and prevent fraud, except where your rights override those interests; and
  • Public interest or vital interests (Art. 6(1)(d)/(e)) — where applicable.

When we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Personalized Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site function (such as saving your theme preference), performance and analytics, and, where applicable, to measure and personalize advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and many browsers let you reject or delete cookies. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Service.

Google Analytics and Google Ads. We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service, and, where applicable, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google may also use this information to personalize ads on partner sites. Additional opt-out tools, such as the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out or browser opt-out plugins, may also be available from the relevant advertising networks. Using these tools does not stop all advertising — it stops personalized advertising based on your activity.

6. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following situations:

  • Service providers and processors who help us operate, host, analyze, or improve the Service (such as hosting, analytics, and email delivery providers). These providers process information on our behalf and are bound to confidentiality and applicable data-protection requirements;
  • For legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others;
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, provided the receiving party agrees to honor this policy;

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not rent your personal data to third parties for marketing.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal, accounting, or tax obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. 8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required by the GDPR or other applicable law, we put appropriate safeguards in place for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another valid transfer mechanism.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. The rights available to you depend on the applicable law (see Section 11) and may include:

  • Access — to know what personal information we hold and request a copy;
  • Rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Erasure / Deletion — to request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Restriction or Objection — to restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Portability — to receive your personal information in a structured, machine-readable format, where applicable;
  • Withdrawal of consent — to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent;
  • Opt-out of sale or sharing — to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration;
  • LIMIT USE of SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION — to limit the use of sensitive personal information as defined under the CPRA;
  • Non-discrimination — to receive equal Service and price, within the limits permitted by law, even if you exercise any of these rights;
  • Designated agent — to authorize an agent to submit requests on your behalf under the CCPA/CPRA, subject to verification.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to, and is not intended for, children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages without parental consent. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Applicable Privacy Laws

We design our practices to align with major privacy and data-protection laws. Depending on where you are located, the following laws may apply to your use of the Service:

  • European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) — for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland (the UK GDPR and Swiss GDPR apply the same principles locally);
  • Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados — LGPD) (Lei nº 13.709/2018) — for users in Brazil;
  • California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) — for residents of California, United States;
  • Other U.S. state privacy laws — including but not limited to the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), and Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA);
  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — United States, where applicable;
  • Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) — People's Republic of China, where applicable;
  • Other applicable national or regional privacy laws in the jurisdictions in which you reside or from which you access the Service.

Where any provision in this policy conflicts with applicable law, the applicable law controls. For GDPR purposes, we act as the controller of your personal data, and contact details for our privacy representative are available on request via the email in Section 14.

12. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us, including partner sites, calculators, or referenced articles. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party site or service. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party sites. Use of third-party sites is at your own risk.

13. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit where applicable, and limits on data access for our service providers. However, no system or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, we will try to provide notice, for example by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
