1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Resonanty ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on resonanty.com (the "Site" or "Service"). It is provided as a stand-alone policy and also forms part of our Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Privacy Policy.

This policy describes: (1) what cookies and similar technologies are; (2) the types we use and the purposes behind each; (3) the specific cookies we set or rely on, including their names, providers, purposes, and durations; (4) how you can manage, delete, or disable them; and (5) how to opt out of personalized advertising.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They help the site remember your actions and preferences (such as your theme choice), keep you signed in, or measure how the site is used.

We also use similar technologies, including:

  • Local storage — data stored on your device by your browser, used for remembering preferences such as light/dark theme;
  • Web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs) — tiny graphic files embedded in pages or emails that help us count visits, measure performance, and understand user behavior;
  • Server logs — records of requests made to our servers, including IP address (often truncated), browser type, device type, pages requested, and timestamps;
  • Embedded content — third-party content (such as YouTube videos, tweets, or other embeds) that may set cookies under the third party's own policy when you interact with it.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

We group the cookies we use into the following categories. You can manage your consent for non-essential categories through your browser settings or the opt-out tools described in Section 8.

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to your actions, such as setting your theme preference or filling out a form. You can configure your browser to block them, but doing so may affect how the Site works.
  • Functionality / Preference cookies. These remember information that changes how the Site looks or behaves, such as your dark/light theme choice. Without them, the Site still works, but some preferences may not persist across sessions.
  • Performance / Analytics cookies. These help us understand how visitors interact with the Site so we can measure and improve performance. They may be set by us or by third-party analytics providers (see Section 5).
  • Advertising / Personalization cookies. We currently do not serve personalized advertising on the Site. Where this changes, we will update this policy and link to Google's personalized ad opt-out tools, as set out in Section 8.

4. Specific Cookies We Use

The list below describes the principal cookies and similar technologies used on the Site. We may add, remove, or change cookies as we update the Service; we will revise this list and the "Last updated" date when we do.

  • Theme Preference (local storage) — Provider: Resonanty (first-party). Purpose: Remembers your dark/light theme choice. Duration: Persists on your device until you clear browser data. Type: Functionality / Preference.
  • Cookie Consent / Preference (if applicable) — Provider: Resonanty (first-party). Purpose: Records whether you have accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, if a consent banner is shown. Duration: Up to 12 months. Type: Strictly necessary (to honor your consent choice).
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) — Provider: Google LLC (third-party). Purpose: Distinguish visitors, throttle requests, and report aggregate usage metrics. Duration: _ga up to 2 years; _gid up to 24 hours; _gat up to 1 minute. Type: Performance / Analytics. Google processes the data as a processor on our behalf; data is used for site analytics and not for cross-site personalized advertising when this feature is configured.
  • Server logs — Provider: Resonanty / hosting provider. Purpose: Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. Duration: Retained for a limited period for security and audit purposes. Type: Strictly necessary.

Some browser versions may store local-storage data under your domain profile rather than as traditional cookies. You can review and clear this data in your browser's site-data settings.

5. Third-Party Cookies and Services

The Site may use third-party services that set or read cookies and similar technologies on their own behalf. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we do not control them. The principal third parties we may rely on include:

  • Google Analytics — used to measure traffic and Site usage. Google's privacy policy and practices are available at https://policies.google.com/privacy;
  • Google Ads and partner technologies — if and when personalized advertising is enabled on the Site, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites, and may use information from partner sites. You can opt out through the links in Section 8; and
  • Embedded content providers — third-party embeds (such as YouTube or X/Twitter) may set cookies when you interact with them. You should review those providers' policies.

6. Session and Persistent Cookies

Session cookies are temporary and expire when you close your browser. We may use them to keep track of your activity during a single visit. Persistent cookies remain on your device for the period set by the cookie (or until you delete them) and are used to remember preferences across sessions, such as your theme choice or analytics visitor identifiers.

7. Legal Basis and Consent (GDPR / ePrivacy)

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (as transposed in EU member states) and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), storing or accessing information on your device (including via cookies and similar technologies) generally requires your consent, except where storage is strictly necessary for the Service you have requested.

Where we rely on consent for non-essential cookies, you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing or blocking cookies through your browser settings, or by using the opt-out tools in Section 8. The legal basis under the GDPR for processing personal data through cookies is set out in Section 4 of our Privacy Policy.

8. Your Choices and Personalized Ad Opt-Out

You have several options for managing cookies and similar technologies:

  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you accept, block, delete, or alert you to cookies. See your browser's help resources for instructions. Disabling certain cookies may affect some Site features (for example, your theme preference may not persist).
  • Analytics opt-out. For Google Analytics, you may install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or use the opt-out described in Google's privacy and cookie documentation.
  • Personalized advertising opt-out. Where personalized advertising cookies are used, you can opt out and review how Google uses information from partner sites at the following links:

Using these opt-out tools does not stop all advertising — it stops personalized advertising based on your activity. You may still see generic ads. For state-law opt-outs (e.g., the CCPA/CPRA opt-out of "sale" or "sharing"), see Section 9 of our Privacy Policy.

9. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common standard for how DNT should be interpreted, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. If we change this in the future, we will update this section.

10. International Transfers

Cookies and similar technologies may store or transmit information to providers located in other countries, including the United States. Where required by applicable law (such as the GDPR), appropriate safeguards (e.g., the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place. See Section 8 of our Privacy Policy for more detail.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or how we operate the Service. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, we will try to provide notice (for example, by posting a notice on the Site). We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
